FreeLogoGen

Straight answers.

Everything people ask before downloading — licensing, files, privacy and trademarks. If your question is not here, the contact form reaches a human.

Is FreeLogoGen really free?

Yes — every icon, font, shape, palette and export size is free, with no account required. The site is funded by a small number of display ads. We never add watermarks and never charge for downloads.

Do I need to create an account?

No. The maker runs entirely in your browser. Your most recent design is saved in local storage so you can pick it up again, and there is nothing to sign up for.

Will my design be saved if I close the tab?

Your latest design is stored locally in your browser. Clearing site data or using a private window removes it — so download anything you want to keep.

Can I use my logo commercially?

Yes. Logos exported here may be used for commercial projects, client work, products, print and merchandise. You own the resulting artwork; we make no claim to it.

Do I need design experience?

No. Start from one of the 69 presets and change what you like. The layout engine keeps spacing and proportions balanced automatically, so nothing looks accidental.

Can I upload my own icon or image?

Not currently — the icon library is curated so every mark stays in the same visual system. You can, however, match any brand colour with the custom colour pickers.

Do I get a vector file?

Every design exports as a true SVG — not a traced bitmap. That means infinite scaling for signage, merch and print, plus full editability in Figma, Illustrator or Inkscape.

What size PNG should I download?

512px covers avatars and web headers. Use 1024px for decks and documents, and 2048px when a printer asks for a raster file. For anything printed large, send the SVG instead.

What is the difference between PNG and SVG?

PNG is a fixed pixel image — great for social profiles and slides. SVG is vector geometry — it stays razor-sharp at any size and can be edited later. Our guide breaks it down in detail.

Is there a watermark?

Never. Not on the canvas preview, not on the PNG, not on the SVG. The file you download is the finished artwork.

Can I edit the SVG later?

Yes. The exported SVG uses standard elements and embeds the font, so it opens cleanly in vector editors. Text remains editable in most tools.

Can I trademark a logo made here?

You own the artwork we generate, but a trademark is a legal registration, not a file. Before filing, search your jurisdiction’s trademark database to make sure the name and mark are available. We are a design tool, not a legal service.

Do you claim any rights over my design?

No. Once exported, the artwork is yours outright — no attribution line, no licence fee, no usage reporting.

Can I use it for client work?

Yes. Many freelancers and small agencies use the maker for client marks, favicons and social avatars. You keep the full commercial rights.

Does my design leave my computer?

No. Rendering and export happen locally in your browser. There is no upload step and no server-side copy of your work.

Why are there ads?

Display ads keep the tool free for everyone. We deliberately limit ad placements so they never interrupt the design flow, and there is no advertising in the export process itself.

What cookies does the site use?

Our own local storage for your draft design, plus standard advertising cookies from Google AdSense where applicable. The Privacy Policy lists every category in detail.

Is the site safe for kids?

The tool is suitable for all ages and collects nothing. That said, it is a design utility rather than a product aimed at children.
